[ARCHIVED] WILKES COUNTY GOVERNMENTS REMAIN OPEN FOR BUSINESS

All public safety services are operational and ready to respond to emergencies. Residents are urged to dial 911 in case of emergency.

Safe and clean drinking water is still being produced by municipal utility departments for consumption by town residents and county residents who are members of water associations.

All social services and administrative offices are open. Regulatory programs remain active and regulations remain in effect.

Outdoor parks and recreation amenities like playgrounds, playing fields, and trails are open for individual use.

Meetings of the three elected boards are proceeding as planned.

However, to reduce the opportunity for person-to-person transmission of the virus, some government services will be modified or reduced.
