The Town of North Wilkesboro, in partnership with LandDesign, invites all community members to attend one of the two scheduled times of our next community input session for the Downtown and River District Master Plan. This event has been rescheduled to Thursday, May 1, 2025.
We want to hear from you! There will also be an opportunity to provide feedback online after the event.
Building upon the valuable feedback from previous sessions, the design team will unveil proposed master plan concepts for North Wilkesboro’s downtown and river districts. This is a pivotal opportunity for citizens to review the concepts, offer their insights, and contribute to the final vision that will shape the future of North Wilkesboro. The Master Plan aims to offer implementable, realistic projects that create a cohesive vision for North Wilkesboro’s core, focusing on the interconnected yet distinct downtown and river districts.
The proposed master plan concepts will address key areas, including:
- Enhanced public open spaces and pedestrian connectivity.
- Opportunities for private development and economic growth.
- Preservation of architectural character and historic elements.
- Improved streetscapes and transportation infrastructure.
- Stormwater management improvements.
- Floodplain development considerations.
