[ARCHIVED] Board of Adjustment Training June 2nd

Ever wonder what the Board of Adjustment is or does? Here's your chance to find out more! The Town of North Wilkesboro will host a training session for the Board of Adjustment on Wednesday, June 2nd at 5:30 pm. The training will be held in person and via Zoom. The in-person meeting will be held at the Stone Center located at 613 Cherry Street, North Wilkesboro, NC. If you plan on joining us in person at the Stone Center we ask for you to social distant and wear a mask. Topics to be covered include: What does quasi-judicial mean; The role of the BOA and how it differs from that of the Planning Board and the governing board; The BOA's Rules of Procedure; How BOA meetings and public hearings should be conducted; Findings that the BOA must consider in making decisions; Voting and what constitutes a majority; Conflicts of interest and recusals; and, The Town's other land use plan and other planning-related documents and how they come into play when making decisions.
