[ARCHIVED] Public Notice of Budget Hearing

Notice is hereby given in accordance with the requirements of G. S. 159-12 that the proposed budget for the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 was on May 4, 2021 presented to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners and is available for public inspection on the town’s website at www.north-wilkesboro.com and at the Town Clerk’s Office, 832 Main St. North Wilkesboro, NC.

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on the FY 2021-2022 proposed budget at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Stone Family Center for the Performing Art, 613 Cherry St. North Wilkesboro, NC and on the Zoom online platform (www.zoom.com), meeting ID# 868 7808 3957. Public comments will also be accepted by mail, fax, or email from the date of this notice through Monday, June 7, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Emails may be sent to townhall@north-wilkesboro.com.

This public hearing is being held for the further purpose of complying with the requirements of North Carolina General Statute 158-7.1 by receiving public comments on the proposed allocation of funds to Wilkes Economic Development Corporation (EDC), pursuant to EDC’s request for the same. The request submitted by EDC states that it will continue utilizing EDC funds to pursue a programmatic design that encompasses many areas of economic development. It is the intent of the Board to consider granting the request for funds by EDC by making an allocation to EDC for said programmatic design.
