[ARCHIVED] Woodlawn Recreation Center to reopen

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WOODLAWN RECREATION CENTER TO REOPEN APRIL 5, 2021

[NORTH WILKESBORO, NC, APRIL 1, 2021] – North Wilkesboro’s Woodlawn Recreation Center will reopen April 5, 2021 with protective measures in place. The facility has been closed for one year due to the pandemic. Its reopening coincides with Wilkes County Schools’ spring break period, so that area youth may have additional options during their time off from school.

Per Executive Order 204, certain protective measures will be in place and enforced at Woodlawn:

Masks must be worn at all times, whether indoors or outdoors.
Indoor capacity is limited to 15 persons; capacity on the outdoor court is limited to 12.
Guests must practice social distancing where able.

Town staff will implement additional sanitation and ventilation measures as well.

The reopening was made possible by improving COVID-19 trends statewide, and by the loosening of some restrictions in Executive Order 204. However, the Town of North Wilkesboro reserves the right to again close the facility should it be necessary to protect public health and safety.
