[ARCHIVED] Non-Residential Building Ordinance Consultation Period Begins

The town's Planning Department is providing a six month consultation period on its new Non-Residential Buildings and Structures Ordinance that was adopted in December 2020 and will be implemented July 1, 2021. This grace period gives property owners the opportunity to find out whether or not their building complies with the ordinance before enforcement starts this summer. North Wilkesboro's new ordinance holds commercial buildings to a minimum standard of fitness and is designed to catch and resolve instances of building deterioration before they become unrepairable. The goal being to ensure the safety and vibrancy of our building inventory.
