A portion of the Orange/Jefferson Turnpike Section of the Yadkin River Greenway will be closed beginning the week of July 21st. This closure will allow crews to begin the first phase of cleanup in an area damaged during Hurricane Helene. The construction area is roughly 1/4 of a mile and begins from the entrance to the greenway off of 13th Street through the corner curve. Barriers will be placed for the duration of construction.
Repair work is urgently needed in this area, and construction is expected to last two weeks, with a second phase to repair the riverbank and greenway slope expected at a later date.
