The Town of North Wilkesboro takes economic development very seriously. It is North Wilkesboro's goal to recruit and
attract new businesses and industry to our Town and County while at the same time, provide for the support and growth
of our existing Industrial, Commercial and Retail organizations.
The North Wilkesboro has demonstrated its commitment to Economic Development by its willingness and leadership in
establishing the Wilkes Industrial Park here in North Wilkesboro. The Wilkes Industrial Park is the North Carolina's
second Largest Certified Industrial Park. The park has approximately 552 available acres and a wide variety of sites to
choose from. Please contact the Town or the Wilkes EDC if you are interested in looking at sites in the park. Utilities
including water, sewer and natural gas are available to many sites.
We keep in contact with our existing industries by working with the Wilkes Economic Development Corporation in an
Industrial Visitation Program organized and coordinated by the EDC. Through this program, we visit our existing
industries with a multi-disciplinary group made up of representatives from the Community College, Employment Security,
the School System, the NC Department of Commerce and the County. During these visits we listen to the needs and
concerns of the industries and do what we can to help them solve whatever problems or issues identified at these
meetings. These visits also keep us in contact with these companies and aware of their existing processes and future
needs.
Please look at the information provided here at this site and do not hesitate to call on us if you need any further information.
