Pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. §131E-13(d)(5), notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners (the “Board”) of the Town of North Wilkesboro (the “Town”) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, which public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Board of Education Room at the Stone Center, located at 613 Cherry Street, North Wilkesboro, North Carolina 28659. The purpose of the public hearing is to hear comments regarding the proposals for a long-term lease of Wilkes Regional Medical Center (the “Hospital”). The Town, along with WRMC Hospital Operating Corporation, issued a request for proposal (the “RFP”) related to the long-term lease of the Hospital, and the following organizations submitted proposals in response to the RFP: Capella Healthcare, Inc.; DLP Healthcare, LLC, d/b/a Duke LifePoint; Novant Health, Inc.; RegionalCare Hospital Partners, Inc.; and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (collectively, the “Proposals”). Each of these organizations will be given the opportunity to present information regarding its Proposal at the outset of the public hearing, and following this segment of the public hearing, all interested persons are invited to be heard. A sign-up sheet will be made available in the Board of Education Room prior to the public hearing, and all interested persons are asked to please sign-up in advance.
Starting on Friday, February 12, 2016, copies of the Proposals will be available for public inspection on weekdays, during normal business hours, in the Town Clerk’s Office, located at 832 Main Street, North Wilkesboro, North Carolina 28659.
